At long last... Aidan's 3rd birthday party!!!!

Well, I know it has taken me awhile to get this posted... We have been very busy around here. With the trip to Rome, Florence, and Pisa only a day after the party, I have had no time to blog. We have been winding down after the departure of Auntie Meredith and Jason's changing of shifts at work. Now we are getting back to a normal schedule and less hectic way of life. I am hoping to be able to get through the couple thousand photos from our trip and get them posted in the very near future. One day at a time though, so here is the first of several posts. I promise to try and keep the photos down to the really spectacular ones... or at least the ones I like the best... or the ones that are funny... or... Who am I kidding... You're going to have to look at a whole bunch of pictures from Aidan's party, and later from our trip!

Here is the present demon coming out to steal gifts from the table... I think I need to learn how to do the red eye thing so I can avoid the evil looking pictures.

All Aidan wanted to do was open presents... Forget the party and the guests, she wants TOYS!!!

Shaking a box and trying to get it open.

And another one... "this one is bigger and sounds different when I shake it!"

Curious George came to the party dressed in the same outfit as the birthday girl... how rude!

Aidan doing a bit of dancing before everyone shows up... She really liked the decorations!

The furniture is a bit moved around to make room for the party... lots of balloons and streamers...

A birthday banner, tablecloth, plates, cups, party favors, etc.

My poor attempt at cake decoration... with regular frosting, and trying to mix my own colors. And no frosting utensils... I must have flunked out of art in the 3rd grade.

And another sad attempt. But the kids loved them and were really excited about the pictures! Not a total failure.

The food set up... Hotdogs, baked macaroni and cheese, shell pasta and tuna salad, veggies, fruit, chips, etc.

And a Curious George pinata!!!

And now the guests... This is Gretchen and her two girls Eva and Bre... They are friends from Aidan's ballet class.

Eva in her monkey mask.

And Bre.

This is Aidan's friend Michael... we met him on the plane here from Philadelphia... Been buddies ever since. They are thicker than theives when they get together.

This is Madison... She is also from ballet class.

And here she is sanz monkey, with her mom Nicole.

This is Lorena and her dad Lupe... they live down the street. Juana, her mom, was 8+ months pregnant at the party... She just stepped away before the pic. She just had a little boy! So exciting!

Lorena really liked playing with all the balloons.

All the girls playing musical pillows...

They were very competative!

They had fun collecting balloons and giving the bunches to different people... I got enough balloons to fly to the mainland.

This one is a little out of order, but here are all the kids getting ready to pull the strings on the pinata.

Here the girls are dancing to techno nursery rhymns.

Again, a little out of order, but Aidan is getting ready for everyone to show up.

Aidan decorating the floor with the Curious George stickers from a goody bag, while Jason puts together a George puzzle.

Present time...Finally!!!

All the kids were excited to play with the new toys...

Aidan outside saying her good-byes and thank-yous, all while eating candy from the pinata.

And just for a bit of the actual excitement Aidan was feeling... a little video, before the party. (Thanks to Auntie Meredith for all the pictures and videos during the party.)

  1. I was actually really impressed with your cakes -- mixing your own colors and no decorating tools, wow!!! Talk about going all out for a birthday party. Looks like one I would have loved to be at. How nice for Meredith to be there! Happy Birthday Aidan!
